Always been a helper

“I joined SYNERGY HomeCare as a scheduler in 2017 at age 24, worked my way through the business, and purchased the Longmont agency in February 2020. I have always been a helper.”

“My grandmother had dementia, and I learned that entering her reality, reassuring her, and responding to the feeling behind her words worked far better than correcting her. That experience led me to study and train in compassionate dementia care.”

“I care about the small things: routines, favorite foods, humor, household preferences, and the quirks that make a person themselves. I also believe we have to take care of our caregivers so they can take care of our clients.”

How the Longmont office came to be

The Longmont location opened in 2014. Leighton joined three years later, and the previous owner eventually asked if she would buy the agency. The sale became final in February 2020. Today the office runs on three people: Leighton, Zeus Polina (Director of Operations and Designated Manager), and Damaris Corchado Jimenez (Office Manager and Care Coordinator), supported by 38 working caregivers serving 38 active clients as of September 2026.
